Biography
is a dedicated 3rd Degree Black Belt and instructor whose journey into martial arts is as unique as it is inspiring. Before stepping onto the mats full‑time, he built a career in Civil Engineering and Steel Detailing, contributing to major infrastructure projects across BC and the United States. Over time, he realized that while he enjoyed building structures, what truly fulfilled him was helping build people.
Since joining Excel Martial Arts in 2015, Mohsen has shifted his focus from engineering blueprints to shaping the character of young students. With more than 20 years of experience in Taekwondo, Kung Fu, and blended martial arts systems, he is passionate about helping students develop strong “internal foundations” of discipline, resilience, and confidence, qualities he believes will support them throughout their lives. His teaching philosophy centers on constant growth; he is always learning, reading, and refining his skills to better serve the EMA community.
To Mohsen, EMA is far more than a gym. It is a second family, a supportive, uplifting environment where every milestone is celebrated and every student is encouraged to rise to their potential. Teaching here has become one of the most meaningful ways he gives back to the community that welcomed him when he first moved to Canada.
Outside the gym, Mohsen values balance and connection. He enjoys exploring the beautiful landscapes of BC with his wife, staying committed to strength training to remain sharp for his students, and dedicating time to personal development and leadership. His journey continues as he trains toward his 4th Degree Black Belt, always striving to grow both as an instructor and as a role model for the next generation.
